Posh Balm

I didn't know what to expect, but I'm always looking for a plum shade. I've *very* dry lips and live by Ole Henriksen Pout Preserve. This is COMPARABLY moisturizing, which is insane. The Cassis shade brings out my dark brown eyes. The moisture "wears off" slowly and gradually and I'm never desperate for balm. The packaging is slim and feels safely secured in my bag. I love this and am thrilled that I gave it a shot.

My sister and I both bought Colette, the “red” balm. This gives a sheer, subtle wash of color. This balm is actually hydrating and pretty thick, so its stay power is decent. I do need to initially put layers on, as it’s not a soft balm - one swipe would be inadequate. The click up, but no down option does not bother me, but could bother someone. It has less shine than her glosses, but more shine than a typical lip balm. My sister and I would both buy again.

I am so so happy that I decided to take a chance on this lip product. It was hard to get a good idea of how Cassis would look on my skin based on the pictures, but it is a beautiful deep berry with a glossy look. My favorite thing about this balm is that it’s buildable. It can be a super subtle tint or a deeper flush of color with just a few extra swipes. It has fairly good staying power due to its thicker consistency. It would be perfect however if only the packaging were better. The product was came crooked in the applicator, the packaging, although nice and compact, is not well constructed. You cannot lower the product once you push it up and the overall amount of product you get in the tube is seriously lacking. For this price I think all those details should have been seen to. That being said, I will definitely repurchase because I love the product.

I am fair skinned; I bought the Colette color and it is beautiful. Just the right amount of color. I wanted a gently tinted stick balm with the perfect color, so I got what I wanted there. I am disappointed in how sticky it is; I was hoping for a chapstick type feel. But, this stays on well for me so there's that. My big gripe is the stick clicks up but *DOES NOT RETRACT.* Retracting lipstick isn't exactly nee technology so what gives?! I thought my stick was broken at first but after going to three different sites for reviews I realize it's not broken, I'm just stuck with an expensive product with a wasteful and messy "feature."

I was hoping for a decent, high-quality, slightly dressy and flattering everyday balm. I’m not even looking for something plumping or juicy, just an easy-to-glide, balmy lip balm with low shine, This isn't it. It feels very waxy and tacky, tugging on my lips when I apply it. It emphasizes the lines and texture of my lips rather than giving them cushion or shine, and it’s definitely not flattering. Please see the picture. I can’t think of anyone this balm would flatter, unless your lips are perfectly plumped and your fillers are freshly done. The color is almost none, but I ordered Fleur which has the teeniest color if at all. Apparently it contains Red 27, which is a Red pigment that changes color according to the pH of the lips, and a few bits of other pigments as well. It may as well be transparent. Pros: no fragrance/taste, which is great for me. The click-packaging is ymmv, but it's the trend in Asian beauty so I'm not surprised that VB is following (even the balm is Made in Korea, good job VB). I received no compensation for this review.
