Good transition piece!
I love this sweater coat! It is soft and a great piece to help transition from summer to fall. It is unlined but that allowed me to wear it on warmer nights; also warm enough to wear on those cool early October evenings

Awful, unworkable fabric
When I first saw this jacket online, and read the description, I was led to believe it might be an almost sweatshirt-y poly version of a beloved high end classic jacket silhouette I've come to recognize and love. I ordered several colors but was HORRIBLY disappointed by the quality on this piece. Do not waste your time or money. The handfeel is so rough, gross and not anything you want to touch or feel. It feels like cheap felt, and in the worst way possible. It's almost like the insulation you'd find inside an oven mitt. I was expecting something that might mimic a more camel-hair or wool handfeel OR something smoother like a sweatshirt-y material, but this "guess it will work" cheap-out fabric is insane and something Nordstrom should absolutely not be proud of. Returning all of them next week without even trying them on, just too grossed out handling the first one when it was still inside the bag.

This coat had potential...
This coat had potential, but it falls short. It's thin and unlined. Trying it on once at home, I felt like it had already begun to pill. Returned immediately without hesitation.

Save your time and money. The first thing is that I thought I was ordering a black sweater. If you click on the circle that appears to be black what comes up is a sweater that looks black or, at the most, a very dark grey. But what I received is a very light grey. The material is soft and fluffy like a blanket (read: cheap) and on me it doesn't look good. It feels cheap, but I suppose you can tell from the price that it isn't going to be of very high quality. I will be returning this and I am giving up on buying clothes only available online at Nordstrom. I used to buy most of my clothes in the 80's and 90's from Nordstrom but I am so utterly disappointed in the styles available for the mature woman, not to mention the quality being very low end, that I am now a former Nordstrom shopper.

Soft, lightweight coat
I think the jacket feels soft and has nice quality for the price. It does feel like a sweater and while it’s unlined I think it’s perfect for layering.
This jacket runs a bit large in my opinion. I’m 5’4 and 115 and purchased the XS. When I button it there is a lot of room and it kind of creates a boxy silhouette. I think it would look cute belted if you wear it closed. Anyway, I’m planning on wearing it open over a dress or with jeans and a fitted top.
