Carmen Rib Knit Zip-Up Cardigan

I love Varley as a brand but I do know that while their fabrics always feel amazing, sometimes the fit can be a bit overpowering. This zip up cardigan was really cute! I got it in the Dark Spruce color in size small (bc I knew it ran a bit large) but this one totally hit the mark. The ribbed fabric is buttery soft and so comfortable. The collar lays open nicely and is not too huge. This sweater is cropped which is exactly what I wanted so I could pair it with wide leg jeans and this one looked fantastic. In the darker color I certainly think this sweater could be dressed up and worn out to a nice dinner but I can also work well as a casual everyday piece. The little stripe on the sleeve gives it a sporty vibe especially in the lighter color. (on the green it's hard to see).

This feels good on & can be worn a multiple of ways. The color (cement) is a nice neutral that works with everything. I found it ran TTS & appears to be good quality. I am on the fence with this one because not sure it is the most flattering for a larger bust (dropped shoulder/raglan sleeve with ribbing).

I was so excited to see this brand in the NAS and was fortunate to snag this in the green. Color looks just as pictured and will be a great piece for fall. I've never bought this brand before and I've heard it runs large so when a size small became available I jumped at the chance to buy it and crossed my fingers that it wouldn't be too big. I didn't realize this was a more cropped fit, which is fine, but I feel like it runs TTS. I'm petite with a larger chest and the width of the torso is enough to be roomy in a slouchy but not sloppy way. Sleeve length is a bit long but not so much that it looks oversized. The zipper is nice and smooth and the knit is beautiful quality and so soft. This can be dressed down to wear with leggings or joggers or thrown over a cami with jeans. Looks good both zipped all the way up and worn open.
