Beautiful dress
I bought this in a Petite L, which is a size larger than my usual EF size. I am large busted, and often this type of fabric is tight across the bust on me. The fit is perfect, the fabric absolutely rich and luxurious. In my photo I'm wearing it with my own velvet jacket.

Misleading description of the fabric
Some sleight of hand. Bottom line here: satin is the weave, acetate is the fiber.
Satin weave can be made of silk fibers, which is not what this is but seems to be trying to convince you it is. Acetate is one of the cheapest synthetic fibers there is — highly toxic to make and not biodegradable. Shame on you, Eileen.

Gorgeous, versatile, and comfortable!
I absolutely love this dress! I bought it to wear to a wedding last month. The color is gorgeous and the texture of the fabric adds depth and interest - reminds me of hammered silk satin. I disagree with the reviewers who said that this dress looks/feels cheap; it is not stiff, scratchy, or plastic-feeling like a cheap polyester charmeuse or satin can be. I really appreciate that EF uses environmentally responsible and sustainable fabrics like acetate and rayon to make high-quality clothes. I love the design of the dress as well - reminiscent of a 1930s bias-cut evening gown, but not uncomfortably clingy. Regarding the sizing: I am between an XS and S in EF dresses and tops depending on the style of the garment; the size XS of this dress fit me as shown in the product photos. If you are between sizes or want a slimmer fit, I would definitely recommend ordering one size down - and definitely check the fit chart measurements if you are new to EF and not accustomed to EF "easy sizing". Note on length: I am 5'11" and this dress hits me about 5 or 6 inches above my ankles - perfect for taller people, but would likely require hemming for more petite ladies.
