Elphaba plays with Barbie.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this doll to my ten year old granddaughter. She is obsessed with the wicked series. She loves the packaging and the doll's outfit. The day I gave it to her she played with it for about an hour and a half. She incorporated Elphba into her Barbie stories as the "evil sister" to Barbie

Thrillifying Elphaba Thropp
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's talk about the new Thrillifying Elphaba doll from the movie adaptation of Wicked. As far as I can tell, there's nothing new here between this doll and all the other dolls Mattel has released for this character but I really think these Elphaba dolls have an absolutely beautiful face. I think the sculpt and paint style captures the essence of the actress without coming across as uncanny, her eyes look bright and she has a slight smirky smile. She's got this gorgeous green color to her face and body that I wouldn't quite describe as Emerald, it's a bit more muted than that.. The entirety of her face is also painted in green tones but doesn't come across as being bland. Her top eyelashes are black with the lower lash line being green, the irises of her eyes are green, her eyeshadow is two swipes of different greens, her freckles are green, her lips are also green with an outline in a slightly gray toned green and her eyebrows, surprisingly, are gray. She has a beautiful mess of long micro braided hair that comes down to her lower back and curls a bit at the ends, and when I say mess I don't mean that it's messy in any way just that it's so full and can be used to frame her face or be brushed back or however you want. You could toss this doll all around and her hair would just fall in such a perfect way. I love it. It appears to be a blend of a dark brown and black and she has black baby hairs painted along the hairline on her face. She is wearing a long black fitted coat with a cape attached at the back. There are sheer black ruffles around her neckline as well as a crinkly material that makes up the lower skirt of what would be a dress. The crinkled material appears to be a very, very dark green and is white on the inside which is sewn together with the coat and creates the illusion of a dress, unfortunately it's all one piece. The coat has a nicely folded lapel with decorative stitching that is secured on both sides with black plastic ties, it folds over at her waist and is sewn into place and has two little accent, non-functioning, shiny black buttons. The sleeves come all the way down a little past her wrists with a slit that goes part way up her forearm. The length of the coat comes all the way down to roughly just above her toes and has an opening from her thighs down showing the skirt of the dress, it also has two little black plastic ties on either side at the bottom. The entirety of the coat has a pattern with sections of lines that go in different directions and is printed in a way that stands out when the light catches it. Her cape is a really thin, sheer material that is cut in a jagged way all around. It has a printed jagged line pattern that is multicolored in grays and is on one side only, which isn't too noticeable since it is see-through.
I understand that her cape is supposed to be tattered and rough but with the way it was made, if you're not very careful it will get totally shredded as the edges are raw and unfinished. As stated before everything is sewn together which creates a one-piece outfit that velcro's in the back near her neck. She has some really intricately sculpted black boots that come up to around midcalf with the outer side being higher. They have a tall heel and a square toe box with sculpted laces that start in the front at the toe and wrap around to the outer side going all the way up to the top. Her accessories include a hat, a broom, a book, and a stand. Let's start with her book as it is the most interesting accessory and is new to this release of Elphaba. If you're familiar with the story of Wicked then you'll know that this is actually the Grimmerie, a magical spellbook. It is a medium tone brown with cream colored pages in a unique triangular shape and opens up into four sections which can be snapped closed. The outer sides have an intricate ornate pattern that is sculpted into the plastic and the inside also has some interesting sculpting that frames the corners and has a hinge. When you open it the rest of the way it's not very interesting to be honest but just shows the snaps and the inner pages that are separate pieces of plastic. Next up we have Elphaba's pointy black witch hat complete with its own unique sculpting that has many vertical lines with several horizontal trims starting at the base with more layers working their way up making it look movie accurate. Moving right along to complete her look is her broom which is made up of multiple brown sculpted pieces which were likely glued together and then painted with a lighter brown to bring out some of the detail in the sculpting. I especially like the long handle as it is not just a single smooth stick but has a lot of sticks woven together, creating a nice texture. Last of all we have her stand which is comprised of two separate pieces, a clear support bar, which grabs ahold of her legs at the inside of her thighs (as to be able to hide underneath her clothing), and a shiny emerald green colored base that has a really nice gear styling and the word Wicked sculpted into the center. Overall, I like this doll a lot but for being a collector doll I feel like having an actual dress and coat instead of an illusory one-piece outfit should be the standard, it unfortunately drags down this release for me.

Fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could barely get this doll out of the box before my daughter snatched it out of my hand and went to play. Elphie quickly joined in the other dolls tea party. Instead if her broom helping her fly, it helped her clean up.

Moveable Elphaba with a stand to display her.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased for my daughter that is obsessed with Wicked. She was so excited, and now need to get Glinda. She likes that it came with a stand she can sit on when not being played with. It’s nice that she is bendable so if want her to sit the doll can. Very well made.

So detailed and fun for all ages
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loved playing with her Elphaba doll in her Barbie playhouse and using the accessories for imaginative play. As a fan of Wicked, this doll was great for her collection and super detailed. I was really impressed with the quality and the fun accessories that came with it.
