Diaper Pail

I have the Robin's Egg Blue diaper pail and it is a beautiful color, I will say that. The positives are that it locks, to keep little fingers out, and it leaks no odors whatsoever. The negatives are its height, very short and frankly hard to reach when standing at a changing table with one hand on baby, and the hole is smaller than we'd like, you basically have to wrap the diaper into a tight bundle to fit it in, which is a pain with a disposable diaper and even more so with cloth. We have had to clean off the rim more than once when tossing in a blowout diaper and that is not desirable, a blowout is frankly messy enough. I would love it if Ubbi would have more size options available....I'd love a taller version with a wider opening.

With twins, I loved the idea of using any regular kitchen sized garbage bags, yet still getting the air-tight seal to contain odor. However, EVERY time I've emptied a full pail my trash bag gets caught on the inside rim and it's a struggle to just remove it. I've trouble-shot this & even read the manual in case there was a secret. Now it's a whole ordeal of laying the pail on its side to maneuver the bag out without catching. Still gets caught. I've had this for 6mo now. I wish I kept my Munchkin Arm & Hammer pail!

This diaper pail is like no other! Its made of powder coated steel, and has rubber seals which actually prevents the pail from soaking up smells and prevents odors escaping like the current plastic ones on the market. We did a lot of research, and walked away very happy with this investment. It uses regular garbage bags, and it also visually looks better than the other regular diaper pails on the market.

I've used A few different diaper pails and this has been the greatest. It is made of steel so stinky smells do not seep out (like they did with the plastic ones), you can use ordinary garbage bags (which is much more convenient than those that need special bags and a money saver). The only time you smell the stink is when you open the top to put the diaper in, but if you are quick you don't even smell it (you smell this when you put a diaper in the diaper genie too, it's inevitable.) I would recommend the ubbi to everyone.

We received this as a gift for our twins. It lasted about 18 months and when we moved, it went out with the trash. We found it was similar to using an open air trash can. I like that you can use any bags- we had the best luck with grocery bags as they were easier to keep inside and encouraged daily take-out. I agree with other reviewers that bags get stuck and rip- that happened when using big trash bags and it wasn’t pleasant. Also, even after bleaching and regular cleaning there is no way to get the smell out. There’s a seal that helps keep odor in but it shouldn’t be removed and it can’t be replaced. Overall would not gift this to someone.
