Franki boots from Trotters
These are the closest I can find to a mid-calf non-combat, hardware free pair of leather boots that go with every skirt and dress length . Simply stated: European style. The wide width is comfortable and roomy so get your true size. The leather is soft and gives a polished look, the lug sole is light . A good looking fall/winter pair to pound the sidewalks of NYC, at a very reasonable price. Now I would love a dressier version too.

The Trotter brand has never disappointed. And these stylish black boots fit my 10 wide feet perfect. They are sturdy but not heavy. The shaft height is right under my knees. The leather is not soft but is real quality. I've worn with wide-leg pants, dresses, and skirts.
