Plaid Puff Sleeve Shirt Jacket

After reading all the reviews, I was worried about the power shoulders. They are in style and I have a sweater with them so I thought I’d give it a shot. This shacket is the best! I love the power shoulders and the quality of the piece. So glad I didn’t let the negative reviews sway my purchase!

This is already an oversized jacket for its size. I was in the store and purchased the small (I am an xs typically, but will buy up to a medium for an oversized look). The small here is a true 4-6, I would say. About the sleeves... it’s more about how the shoulder seam puffs up then makes you look very broad shouldered. I’m going to try the xs then see how the shoulders fit. With this particular weight of fabric, the design should have stayed basic. Like a Pendleton coat design. It makes for a timeless piece rather than a trendier one. I would say that the puff sleeve, when the size of the jacket is right for your frame, will still work and give your outfit that cozy autumnal look you might be going for. Demi boot cut jeans, ll bean duck boots, a long sleeved tissue tee or turtleneck, cashmere sweater, with a beanie should complete the look. The large front pockets are a statement, as well. I think they were going for a cross between your grandpa’s hunting jacket that your granny altered to fit her granddaughter.
