V-Neck Fitted Waist Cardigan

I was looking for a solid black cardigan that was not too basic, and I was drawn to the peplum-like cut. The knit is a heavier weight and nice quality. However, I usualy wear my cardigans open, and because of the cut of this sweater, it looks odd when worn open. Also, because the material is a heavier weight than I'd expected, it didn't really drape when I wore it unbuttoned; instead, it hung open in an awkward way. If I'd wanted to wear it buttoned up as shown on the model, I would have kept it. I wear a medium or size 8 in most clothing and bought this in a M, so I'd say it is true-to-size.
