Tilda Crop Denim Jacket

I’m on the hunt for the PERFECT denim jacket. I’m a bit of a connoisseur of denim jackets so I have quite a bit already (from target, Levi’s to free people) know what I like. This jacket is super odd. I bought it in a side 12 and a 14 because I wasn’t sure what would fit. For reference, I am a 14-16 usually. Immediately I put it on and I notice that the front part of the jacket hangs super weirdly. It’s almost large in a way? Usually i don’t mind if denim jackets won’t button (cause really who buttons them?) but this one would absolutely button AND THEN SOME. It’s so weird. And then, the true deal breaker, it’s incredibly tight right in that line under the armpit in both jackets. It doesn’t seem as if the arms are any different between the two sizes, they’re both uncomfortably tight. All in all, this jacket just didn’t have what I needed it to. It was just very meh. I don’t love it. So they’re all going back.

I ordered size 4 first and it looked boxy on me. (On Topshop official site, this same jacket, both in black and blue, is called “slim fit jacket” FYR.) I’m 33-25-33 and I usually wear size 4 in Topshop tops, and size 0/2 in US brands. I exchanged to size 2, with front buttons closed, it looks more like stock photos. I have no trouble closing buttons or raising arms (it’s denim jacket so it’s tight anyways), so I’d say it runs larger than normal topshop sizing (topshop size chart says size 2 is busy 31.3 waist 24.3, and size 4 is bust 32.3 waist 25.3, and size 2 fits me better in this jacket although my size 33-25 is size 4 usually). I ordered black.

Honestly the fit wasn’t too bad. I’m not so sure if I just got a poorly made jacket or this goes for all of them, but when I received the jacket, it had the most nauseating smell. This is the type of smell from cheap black dyes that you might have experienced shopping at a forever21. This was definitely a major turn off and didn’t think twice in returning it.
