Jamie High Waist Skinny Jeans

love love love this brand for jeans... i do not wear high waisted bottoms, i ordered these online cause they were on sale and i had nordstrom notes so why not? loved them.. these make my already round bottom look perkier and rounder.. hahahaha.. i'm 5'7" with long legs, i like that you can order tall length, when available.. and they do run small,, about 2 sizes if you have hips..

This is my first pair of Topshop jeans so this is a true “first impressions” review. I’ve been wanting a pair of white jeans for so long but have had so much bad luck until these. For body reference I’m 5’8”, 32-27-37 and 137 lbs. Let’s start with the good: the material is thick and structured unlike most white jeans which feel extremely thin and cheap. They have a good amount of stretch to them without being overly stretchy, but are tight enough to form to your body without being uncomfortable. The color is pure white and not an off-white counterpart. They are a decent high rise, coming just below my belly button (could be higher but I like super high waists because I have a long torso) and I like that they come in different lengths. Now the slightly bad: they’re not sheer by any means, but reviews saying they won’t show anything are false. If you’re wearing colored/black underwear you WILL be able to see them slightly, so stick with nude and you’ll be good to go. Further, sizing was difficult for me. I bought both a 28x32 and a 30x32 based on other reviewers. I wear a 26/27/4 in almost all jeans, and there’s no doubt you definitely have to size up at least one size in these. I debated for a long time between the sizes. The 28x32 felt almost too tight, but the 30x32 were almost too loose in the waist and had wrinkling all over my knees and back of my legs. I first thought of keeping the larger size and washing them initially in hot water, but the content of the jean is 67% polyester and only 33% cotton, so I don’t think they would shrink much if at all. I chose to keep the 28x32 size because 1. I’m in the midst shedding about 3 winter pounds 2. they’re not offensively tight (not showing or creating any lumps and bumps) and 3. I think they will stretch just enough with wear. I have a mostly straight body type however, so if you’re more curvy/athletic in the legs or if you like your jeans more comfortable in fit you may want to stick with 2 sizes up rather than 1. Overall I’m really happy with them and very happy to finally have a pair of high-waisted jeans that I like and that I don’t feel or look like a blimp in. I’m also glad that I got them on sale for $35, and I would recommend others do the same (I’ve paid more than $70 for jeans before but because of the white wash I know I won’t wear them as much as my other jeans and therefore probably wouldn’t pay full price for them). I love the high waist and length of these jeans. I was usually a size 12/31 at the time I ordered size 34x30. They fit perfectly then, but are super stretchy and actually still fit me now at a size 8/29. So they definitely run small. My only complaint is they are very legging-like in fit. I have very skinny legs and they still somehow stick to them like leggings, so when I walk, my legs pull the pants down a little. Still, I have bought these pants 3 times and would continue to because of the waist and length. They are pretty see-through but I have just accepted that with white pants. I still haven't found white pants that I like better so that says something :-)
