The fabric is nice and I love the length of the dress. Sadly, The roughing in the midsection was awkward and stuck out looking like I had a Fanny-pack on ;)
I have a boxy shape, so that could have been problem. Sadly, I had to return.

terrible fit
I sized UP and ordered a 12. I’m normally an 8 or 10. I could not even try in the dress because the sleeves were so tight I literally couldn’t even get them past my elbows.
Also, while I couldn’t actually get the dress in place, I did notice the weird mid-section “pouch” mentioned in the other review.

Unique Black Floral Dress
I purchased this dress last month when it was available. I found the dress to be attractive. The yellow and red floral against the black background does give the dress a slightly edgy/grunge look. The dress is light weight with slightly soft fabric (it’s not all rough or soft - somewhere in between). The styling of the ruching and puffy sleeves are a nice combination without being overly “loud” or tacky. The dress stopped at my ankles, perfect length, and I’m only 5’4. The bad news about this dress is the sizing. I can usually wear a US 12 with this dress, but the size was simply too snug in my stomach and hip area. The sleeve cusps were too tight on my arms, so I had to size-up to a US 14, which fit much better. So, if you’re not a particularly skinny lady like myself, you will need to size-up from your regular Topshop dress size. Also, the dress in general runs small, and it seems one would have to be a “certain size” to wear the dress. My stats are approx. : 35/36 bust - 28/29 waist -38 hips, and I’m between 150 to 155 lbs. The dress doesn’t have a liner, so it is see-thru, though slightly darkened due to the black background color of the dress. If you’re not comfortable with that aspect, you may want to wear a slip underneath. I gave this dress 4 stars because I like the styling and slightly edgy floral print. I subtracted a star due to sizing issues and slight see-thru dress feature. Summary: Nice dress if you like floral prints, but the sizing is tricky. You may need to purchase two sizes that are close to your body size in order to get the right fit.
