Timbuk2 Spire
30L capacity is more than most, perfect for my needs beyond a typical backpack. Laptop an be accessed from the top or side, no matter which 2 ways it's placed in the overhead bin. Outer front pocket with compartments, the umbrella/water bottle sleeve on the side, and water resistant material, are what I wanted.

My first impression Timbuk2
I read lots of reviews about this backpack (and other backpacks from Timbuk2). I ordered this backpack but it does not fit my needs. The reality with this backpack it lacks practicality, functionality, and durability. All three are important to me (might not be for others) so I decided to return it for this reasons. I decided to stick with Goruck as this packs are among if not the best backpacks which is functions, practical, and durable. My sack Goruck GR2 was $375 made in the USA, but worth every penny. Keep in mind that my review pertains to my own personal needs. With that said, the timbuk2 is still a good backpack for those looking for something simple and for those who carry a few items and for those who durability is not in their many. And made in Vietnam.

Good for work travel
I wasn't sure how I felt about this new backpack but it works for travel. I needed something that was more "adult" than my pink backpack and this does the job. It was able to hold my laptop, keyboard, dopp bag for my accessories, notepad, wallet and water bottle. The only thing I wished it had was a strap in the back to attach to my luggage. Some backpacks have it but at a price. This works for what I need. Also, my husband is eyeing it because he plans to borrow it for his business trips as well.

This thing keeps impressing me
I used this for school for a few months before taking it to the limits on my road bike. It held all my books, supplies, laptop and charger, without looking bulky. Once I got a job and chose to commute by bike, I was surprised by how well it handled everything. Each day I pack my laptop, lunch, a change of clothes & shoes, a light jacket, Beats headphones, a book and a few bike tools. It still looks great and has a bit of room to spare. It is very well made and has a lot of pockets and compartments for everything a business or academic commuter could need in a bag. Needless to say, I feel pretty fly as I cruise around Chicago.
