Field Waterproof Hiking Boot (Men)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 20-yr-old son started a new job as a co-op student at an engineering company (in Michigan in the winter) and occasionally steps into some work on the shop floor. He wants to look professional in the office and also wear practical shoes at the same time. He LOVES these Timberland waterproof boots and literally mentions it regularly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Somehow these boots are disappointing compared to a similar pair of Timberland boots I had that are 17 years old and needed replacement. Rather than old fashioned durable leather it is thin nubuck leather over a synthetic layer that feels stiff and plastic-like. They are OK and functional but not as good, not the same feel as the old ones. What changed? Also shoe laces are too thin not long enough for a heavy boot.
