Hand Activated Brake Kit for Chariot Strollers

I have used this on our lite 2 for several runs now and I must say that while most items from Thule are well made and work great this brake kit is really poor. Assembly was pretty easy but the brake kit doesnt stop the stroller, itll slow it down on a hill which is really what I wanted it for but when you say brake kit you expect it to also provide a full stop. The brake shoes doent apply pressure on the wheel evenly which is likely the cause of the poor brakeing pwerformance. If you adjust the brake tight enough to actually stop the stroller it will rub and cause the stroller to slow down. The other issue and probably the bigger one that I have with this thing is that the handle just feels cheap. When you twist it you can feel the stress on the pieces as they try to seperate from eah other. I worry that if I tried to really apply enough pressure to bring the stroller to a stop the pieces would crak. Finally the action of the handle is not very smooth. Thwere is not much spring action in the breaks like you would find in bike brakes which means you have to rotate the handle to apply the breaks but you also have to rotate it back to loosen them. Overall the kit does finction to slow you on a hill but for the cost the build quality and range of function fall far short of what I woudl expect from a Thule product.
