It tips forward when placed upright, so just be sure to have something weighing the backside down if you intend to place your bag like this. Minor inconvenience. May result in a slight change in my routine (I may flip the bag around when I set it upright on the ground, so that the straps are facing out, and the face is leaned against something), which is not a big deal for me at all. Other than that? I’ve never had a better bag. Love the hardshell pocket. Love the material. Love the convertibility, pocket and storage options, compact size of the bag. The shoulder straps are amazing quality, as are the latching mechanisms. I can tell that this bag will last me at least a decade.

I replaced my Thule Subterra after four years of every day use with the Crossover 2. I wanted a bag that was not a backpack but had straps like a backpack that were hidden when not used. The design of the pack keeps everything organized and it's the right size so that I don't over pack it. I carry a 16" laptop, iPad, two sets of glasses, mouse, lots of charging wires, extra charging batteries and other miscellaneous items.
