Coaster XT Deluxe Bike Trailer

This is billed as the XL Coaster, but if they are referring to the double seats, that's somewhat misleading. PLUSES: The Trailer/stroller frame is solid, but light, easily opens and closes, and was a breeze to put together. The tires pop on and off easily, and though I haven't used it, the quick release mechanism and conversion kit to make use of this as a trailer looks very convenient. They include a second ezHitch for a second bike, very helpful for hassle-free switching. The dual harnesses are padded and have an easy on/off clip and adjustable straps. MINUSES: BUT . . . the interior bench for kids is very shallow -- the seat depth is 7", with approx. 13" available for leg room, and I'm not sure most older/larger toddlers would be comfortable sitting for a longer ride or stroll. We will give it a try this weekend as both a stroller and as a bicycle trailer. ALSO, be aware that this item is NOT "suitable" (meant to be) as (a) jog stroller and it is much bulkier than I would want for a normal double stroller . . . I prefer our Uppababy for most strolling/errands or the double BOB for running . . . both have a more comfortable ride. It is, for its size, though, very agile at turning with the single front wheel, and if you're headed on vacation with bikes and don't want to take tons of equipment, this will do nicely for walks. VERDICT: A nice trailer, primarily for 6 months and older babies who are stable when sitting (no side support) and for smaller toddlers/kids. The stroller function is a bonus when one doesn't want to haul around a trailer and a stroller but will end up using both.
