Skinny Faux Leather Pencil Skirt

I really wanted this piece to work--I've been looking for a brown faux leather pencil skirt. Although the skirt is beautiful and fully lined, I had problems with the sizing/fit and the material. I advise anyone who is between sizes to size down. Per the size chart, I'm between an 8 and a 10 and I had purchased the 10. It was too loose and bunching up in the waist area. The smaller size probably would have worked better. However, I noticed that when I sat down, even for just a few seconds, I would stand up to find noticeable wrinkling in the material that didn't go away upon standing. I have other faux leather pieces (pants, jacket) that do not hold permanent wrinkles in the material with sitting or folding. For $150, I didn't want to risk permanent wrinkles in an otherwise professional-looking skirt. Unfortunately it had to go back.

I really wanted to love this skirt, but it simply wasn’t meant for anyone with big hips and a small waist. I sized up and found it to still pull through my thighs and was gaping in the waist. I considered tailoring it, but was concerned it still might not be a favorite as the fabric is rather unforgiving and I feel like I could do better for the price. Just not for me.

The color is gorgeous, but the substance isn't there. It reminds me of something you'd find on clearance at TJ Maxx...not worthy of Theory's label. Also, the fabric is not flattering and shows ever lump. It will pull across your hips if you have any. I wanted to love this as a stretchy skirt seemed perfect for WFH life...but this isn't for petitie, curvy gals. It might work if you're taller and athletically built. I also think its too expensive even at the sale price.

Absolutely love the color of this skirt, faux leather soft to touch. I had to exchange size 6 to 4 for better fit. It runs slightly big. The problem that drives me crazy is black lining that shows up every time you sit down. Unfortunately I have to return it because it will be very awkward to deal with black underskirt sticking out every time you sit down in a professional environment. What a bummer!
