With TOOAS shoes you have to understand what “last” fits your size foot best with. Once you do that I recommend mostly sticking with other shoes of hers based on that same last. The Emma miles are amazing quality, I bout in neutral cognac and Kelly green! Loooove them both! (I order up a size on these)

These shoes are very well made. Yes the soles are thick, but they are leather and will soften with use. The soles also have a rubber nonslip layer. The are true to euro size. My foot measures a true 7 medium. I purchased these in 37.5 and they fit perfectly. For reference I like 7.5 in closed shoes like Tory Burch.
