Mr. Bernard Combat Boot (Women)

I’ve been eyeing these boots for a while and finally decided to go for it! They’re like an elevated, grown lady Doc Martin and I’m sooooo here for it! I also love that they come with an additional pair of gold and black laces to help switch up the look. Unlike the description, these felt pretty true to size. I knocked one star off because the laces aren’t really the best quality BUT the boot itself is perfect! And, per usual, Nordstrom’s customer service was top notch!

I missed out on these Bordeaux color combat boots the first time, so when they came back in stock I hopped right on! They have worn really well through several seasons. I ordered up 1/2 a size to accommodate a thicker sock, which was a good idea. I don’t regret buying them one bit. BUT you should know the suede tongue has some padding in it, and for those of us with a well muscled leg, I didn’t think it was flattering (if you have thin colt legs, you’ll never notice the tongue.) so I ended up taking them to my cobbler, who was able to remove the interior padding in the tongue so the overall look was much sleeker once laced up. I took off a star for that. Also—the copper hardware DOES set off the metal detectors in the TSA checkpoints, so although incredibly comfortable, not the best traveling shoe, lolol, unless you don’t mind removing them to go through the detectors.

Shoes are beautiful and elegant. However, they're darker color than on the website,which is fine and not a big deal. I was monitoring them for couple of years, and finally, it was my Christmas present. Unfortunately, l have bunions and upper decorative stich together with metal button on the left boot would press on the bunion and make it painful. Therefore, I have to return them.
