A spacious pack features a laptop sleeve, FlexVent injection-molded shoulder straps and a comfortable, padded mesh back panel with a spine channel. The optional waist belt offers added support, and the front compartment comes complete with an organizer. Strategically placed reflective trim offers 360-degree low-light visibility, and an array of external and internal pockets means there's a spot for all of your gear.

Yes I would buy again

I bought my daughter a recon 6 years ago for college. It's still going strong. Decided to get one for my laptop for work. They have changed some but it's been great. Use it everyday for work. I've even emptied the work stuff out of the bag and used it as a day pack on a few hikes and used it as a carry on while flying. I bought it 3/2021, it's now 1/2022. After reading the negative reviews about the bag not wearing well or falling apart, I had to put up a positive review. I'm glad I overlooked those reviews and gave it a try. If things change I'll be back with an update.

Worst backpack EVER!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hello! To begin I got a north face backpack a couple of years ago and loved it! It lasted for years! However I bought one with my own money last year and the quality is just awful! The pockets tear so much so that I can't put my water bottle in on either side! I will NOT be buying one again!

Looks durable/comfortable but just not for me

I recently purchased this backpack before I start dental school in the upcoming summer. I would say the recon backpack looks very durable/comfortable. But for me personally I didn’t like how it was too big/ bulky for my body and how heavy it felt before putting in my laptop so I returned it.

Love TheNorthFace but not good fit 4 me

Very well made and very cute but I'm petite and it seemed a bit heavy prior to loading it up. Plus the straps felt a bit stiff....I returned and am looking for something slightly smaller

An everyday staple

This backpack is such a staple. It's simple, sturdy, and functional. I wish that the smaller compartment wasn't as short as it is because my pencil case barely fits, but that really is my primary complaint.

Great backpack

I got this backpack for high school and it definitely fits all my stuff. It’s very nice quality and I’m sure it’s going to hold up great. My only complaint is that it is rather tall and it can’t stand up on its own, but other than that I love it.

Slightly flawed main pocket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pocket space and overall comfortable to carry. My biggest issue is when you fill the front pocket that is made for accessories and pens, it is then difficult to reach in the main compartment.
