so soft
I’m 5’7” and went back in forth on sizes. I usually have issues with sleeves being too short. This jacket is exactly how pictured. I usually like jackets a little longer but if I went up a size the arms would be too big. Definitely can’t wear a huge bulky sweater and zip it up. Overall a great jacket.

not great
While this coat is a lovely color, the fit was weird on me. While it is true I am a size larger on the bottom than the top, the coat bulged in the waist and fit my hips too closely. In short, it was not flattering nor even wearable. I couldn't even sit in it. Disappointing. It would probably look great on someone with a more slim figure.

Love this coat, but...
I struggled between giving it 3 or 4 stars. This coat is super cute and unlike most down coats, is actually flattering for your figure. Most importantly it is so warm! I walked around NYC with windchills of 10 degrees and was warm unlike my family. I bought the asphalt grey color which is beautiful with a slight sheen. As soon as I walked into my local Nordstroms I had to have the grey! My complaint is that the coat is nylon (giving it that shine) and gets snagged so easily! I've only had the coat for 2 weeks and it looks two years old already. I'm pretty careful, but I think between my daily metro commute and stuffing the coat in my gym locker, it has gotten snagged. I just feel that this shouldn't happen or show the wear that it does when the coat is this expensive. I think the black version is made out of polyester so it probably doesn't snag, scratch, or show wear so easily. I wish I could exchange mine for the black...

Best Coat
This is the warmest coat I have ever owned. I bought this coat because I wanted to cover and keep my butt warm. I love this coat, it is not very bulky and has a cute shape. I am 5 ft 4inches and 135 lbs. i bought a small and it fits very well. i love North Face and the quality is excellent. great for frigid Chicago Winters

Great!
Bought the black in a Medium. I am 5'7" 115 with long arms. The Medium fit perfect! Not too bulky, great flattering length. The jacket washes and drys easily!
I would recommend if you are thin and tall with long extremities ( like me) order your normal size. For me its a medium. I like to have some room to layer, and I like my sleeves long. The size small , body fit, is ok, but I always hate the shorter sleeves ending at my wrists. I always feel like I have to keep pulling them down..

North Face Coat
North Face has a nice sleek look howvever they are not true to size.
While I take a small, size 6 in coats, this coat I had to re-order in XSMALL.
Though it is not a dress ooat it is a stunning coat in steel grey color .
It was my second cousin who is 40 years younger who introduced to NorthFace.

Lightweight, warm, great fit!
I have wanted this North Face coat since last year when I saw several very stylish and warm women in Manhattan... so glad I got one now, too! (Actually I got two... one in black, and a cream color offered at another store.) Fits me perfectly, very lightweight but warm. It's perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. I got the size Small, normally wear a size 6 in dresses.
