Runs way too small
My son wears like 3t/4t jackets and clothing . Bought size 5 for next fall/ winter season and thought for sure it will fit on him till he is 5years old ( he just turned 4) anyways besides that this jacket this warm and soft just want I wanted . So cozy and warm inside .just go up a size. I got my 2 year old size 4 for next winter and it’s big on him now but will be perfect in a year. So just go up a size or two .

Buy one size up!
I am super bummed on the sizing! My son is just now getting into a size 4T. His 3T North face was starting to get small so I ordered a 4T thinking he would have some room to grow. It fits the exact same as his 3T. This item also took almost 2 weeks to ship. Nordstrom packages typically arrive in 2-3 days! Love the quality of the coat and the warmth!
