Antora Waterproof Rain Hoodie

Sigh…the search for a proper rain jacket continues for me. I got this jacket on sale and the color is an amazing pink. We’ve had torrential rain and heavy downpours and I wore this jacket however my back is always left feeling damp which is so uncomfortable especially when it’s cold out. I’ve also tried it out with light rain and seems to hold up but still felt a tad damp. The hood also doesn’t have any strings so it does pull back a bit. If you wear glasses, they definitely get wet. I have to use an umbrella with this jacket for maximum coverage which defeats the purpose of a “waterproof rain jacket”.

The jacket fit well and protected me from light rain and wind during a Fall trip to Canada’s east coast. I bought a medium as I wanted room to layer a sweater underneath if it got too cold. The length and size was perfect on my shorter frame (5 feet, 128 lbs). I loved the darker gray on gray color. The only minor thing I would change are the strings on the bottom, which weren’t useful and got in the way. I’ll likely remove it in the future.

The jacket fits well just a little tight in the wrists. I received my jacket yesterday and upon opening it, it reeked of perfume, it had makeup all over the front, and there were stains drops as well; oh, and the sleeves were dirty- clearly it was worn. The fact that Nordstrom packaged this return up and shipped it to someone new(me) is unbelievable. I called and spoke with a manager who not only refunded me for this purchase but also included funds for dry cleaning as I’m able to keep this purchase. Nordstrom distribution warehouse managers need to get it together- this is unacceptable on every level.

I bought this jacket during the summer and haven’t been able to use it until now. I have worn it during this entire storm that California is having right now and I can say that this is such a good rain jacket. It’s perfect for layering and doesn’t feel claustrophobic. It is light enough to wear clothes under without being too hot. I would say it runs a little small. Because it’s so lightweight, you definitely need more room to layer underneath on an extra cold day; so I would recommend going up a size. And I wish I did. The hood is great and goes farther than a normal hood to keep rain off your face. Water beads right off of this jacket. The water does not seep through at all. That is my favorite part. I have never found a rain jacket that doesn’t soak up the water. I 100% recommend this North Face Waterproof Rain Hoodie!
