Amazing fit

Not black
I liked the vest a lot. It was lighter, which is what I was looking for. But I returned because it's not very black. When I tried it on with my other black stuff it didn't match. It's more like a very dark grey

Cute but won't be keeping it
The vest as a whole is great. I love the style and the quality. However, due to the color and the size I will be returning it. I ordered 'impact orange' which I think should be renamed 'shimmery creamsicle' (I'm sure Northface will take me up on this). There's nothing wrong with the color it's just a little different from how it looks in the pictures and it's not what I was looking for. Also, I am usually a size medium and I found this to be too large. I like my vests more snug and the medium was too roomy and not flattering. I think the small would've been perfect. All in all, a nice vest but not what I was looking for.

Just OK
The vest is puffier than I thought it would be and the large quilting pattern is a little too much like the Michelin Man. The surface finish is also a little shinier than I expected. The vest is cut too close under the arms. I was disappointed as I was looking for a good layering piece. Sorry to say I will be returning this.

Works for Me
This is a classic, versatile down vest. The Cool Blue is a nice light blue that works well with most of my clothes. It looks especially nice with brown and grey. On my computer screen, this color looks more grey than blue but I took a chance it would be blue based on other reviews. It is!
I'm consistently a Medium in North Face jackets so that's what I ordered and it fits great. Since my world is rarely bitter cold, I wear it zipped, but not all the way to the top. When worn this way, the collar lies nicely without rubbing against my jawline. That's a big plus in my opinion.
