I have server allergies after soft cream, am I the only one?
I have been using the thicker cream for years, along with other essence, lotions products and I really enjoyed them. La mer is always my to go choice esp. when I have seasonal allergies. For the first time, I purchased the 1 oz soft cream, but ended with redness and sting sensation on my face. I suspected the sunburn, authenticity of the product, but no, after back and forward testing on my skin, I confirmed that I am allergic to the soft cream. This is really disappointing, I don't know what went wrong? New ingredients in the formula? I looked online and saw people posting similar experiences, I had trial size of soft cream before, never had the issue. Now I am really upset and feel like can't fully trust La Mer products anymore.

Expensive but a treat to use
I've used a few La Mer products over the years and there is no doubt that they are a treat to use and my skin laps then up but they are way to expensive for repeat use. This classic soft cream melts into the skin when you use the pressing technique that is recommended. Skin feels soft and supple and stays hydrated all day. Doesn't always work well with other products though.

The Soft La Mer cream
La Mer's The Soft cream is very expensive, but feels luxurious and a little goes a long way. It does not feel too greasy on oily skin and I disagree with those who say it feels like Nivea skin cream. The packaging is lovely in a tiny glass pot, with a spoon, for easy application when you have long nails. I use only when more hydration is required.

La Mer Moisturising Soft Cream
I've only used a mini of this, and I'm a huge fan of the original cream, but I heard from a dermatologist that this is more worthy of the hefty price tag, due to a better set of ingredients. Personally I think this is a perfectly lovely cream, but as my skin is pretty dehydrated, nothing beats the thick protective barrier of the original. Having said that, I can't fault it, so I'm giving it 5 stars.
