Textured Oxford Throw Blanket

This blanket had a horrible pungent odor, fishy and disgusting, when I opened the package. The smell did not air out. I couldn’t believe Nordstrom was selling something that smelled so foul. I should have returned it, but I was so in love with the color and texture that I decided to try washing it on the hand-wash cycle with detergent and borax. Despite the dry-clean only label. After three or four washings and air-dryings the smell faded enough for me to use the blanket. Then I had to run it for 15 minutes in the drier on extra low to get that stiff air-dried look out of the cotton. Now I adore this blanket and am considering getting another one, despite the original disgusting smell and all the effort. That’s why I’m giving it four stars instead of either five or one. If you order it, be prepared to do the work to de-stink it.
