Texture Floral Print Linen & Cotton Sport Shirt

I just received this shirt in 2 different prints/colors. The fabric looks and feels great, but there is a critical issue with the collar construction. I am not exactly sure what the problem is with the collars on these shirts, but they stick straight out and do not rest on the shirt as collars normally do. Maybe the collars are cut too short, or they lack the proper lining to give enough weight to lie flat. I tried metal collar stays and they didn't help. The fit is true to size for regular fitting shirts. but the shirts would look much nicer in a more tailored/trim fit. I'm a true XL with a 47 inch chest and there was a bit too much room in the chest and under arm area for my taste. Going down to a large would probably result in shorter sleeves, more narrow shoulders and a smaller neck size. Unfortunately, I'll have to return the shirts.
