TK-01 Automatic Espresso Coffee Machine

We read a lot of reviews when we were considering this machine. They were helpful, but they are also largely misinformed. This review is for people also considering buying the TK-01. Spoiler: It's worth it. A lot of reviews talked about how the grinder and puck waste area become totally messy and they couldn't get a nice product. The problem with most of these reviews is that they fail to consider the following: The area around the grinder mechanism becomes full of grounds when the grind setting is too coarse. Leave your machine at a 1. Espresso drinks require a finer grind. This fixed that problem immediately when we were first getting to know ours and the espresso is perfect. Empty your waste bin. Don't wait for a notification. Don't wait a week. Be an adult, open the side hatch, and empty the espresso bin regularly. Give it a rinse, dry it out with a kitchen towel, and then replace it. You will not get a moldy machine if you're not lazy. Don't change the factory settings for the drinks, except for the additional water setting for americanos. If you do change the settings and find that your drinks aren't great, reset them. The original settings are in the manual. Use medium roasted beans. Dark roasted or flavored beans will ruin the machine with their oils. If you're looking for micro foam for your milk drinks, the closer to the right the dial, the milkier / more micro it will be. Overall, the machine is great, as long as you don't pretend to know more than the manufacturer and don't neglect to be an adult in terms of maintenance.

Unfortunately, I have had too many problems with the unit to say I’d recommend one to anyone. If you are looking for quality, simple and easy to use Automatic Espresso Coffee Machine, stay away from this one. I’ve had the machine for 48hrs, purchased recommended coffee beans, called customer support and attempting to adjust setting after reading provided manual that is very brief and lacks support. Terra Kaffe has also very poor customer service as they are not coffee experts and only suggests very minimal solutions to the bitter tasting coffee or customize machine setting. After only two suggestions, they will simply ask you if you are within the 30 day window and suggest returning the item instead of reconciling. Really honestly, a lot of options out there, don’t let fancy expensive marketing fool you.
