Defective Product
My kids were so excited about this toy and I was too, being a Tender Leaf Toy fan. However, after a very long assembly, it became apparent that there was something wrong with the doors. Instead of opening like they should (as pictured on the nordstrom website) they got stuck and the metal brackets twisted and the doors broke at the top. The product is defective.
Nordstrom offered the convenience of taking the fully assembled product back to the store for an exchange/return. However after the hours I have already wasted on this product, I felt that it was important to let others know not to waste their time and money.

Amazing quality! Super cute and multi-functional.
I was apprehensive about purchasing this theater/shop mainly because of the numerous negative reviews on all websites that sell this item. After constructing it, I have to say that they seemed to have redesigned the construction of it. The brackets that another customer mentioned are no longer included, but I have no worries about the doors falling off. It’s just constructed differently. Everything is sturdily built and of high quality wood. No toxic smells! The instructions could definitely be improved, but it was fairly easy to assemble. A video would be nice, but not necessary. Took me 1.5 hours without a drill. My only issue with this product is that the doors scrape the floor when opening and closing. I’m not too happy about my floors getting scuffed. Perhaps I’ll try attaching floor protector strips to the bottoms of the doors. I understand that the doors have to touch the floor though, because alternatively, they may try to self-close. That’s the other thing. If you’re planning to use this as storage, you would need to keep the doors open. That doesn’t really hinder the ability to use it as a puppet theater, but it would be nice if it had more depth so the doors could close with contents inside. The only storage with the doors closed is whatever fits on the narrows shelves attached to the door. Overall, my son and I are extremely happy with it.

Great design, difficult to assemble
This is a beautiful toy. It is versatile and compact. My 2 year old loves it! Her cash register fits well on the counter and the shelves hold plenty of grocery items. It was tough to put together. Some of the holes for the screws were so small that neither my husband or I could tighten the screws in place by hand. He ended up using a drill for a few. This did cause a small crack in the wood in one place.
