Guinevere Pleated Plaid Midi Skirt

This skirt is massive in volume. The “crisp pleats” are nonexistent. There are pleats where the skirt is attached to the waistband but they are not really pleats—just folds in the fabric. When I decided to try to press it so there would be pleats like in the picture, the fabric would not lie in a nice pleat—AND the label says “no ironing”. SO I am unable to bring out the pleats and I am not happy with this. The fabric is swishy like taffeta (noisy). I really expected it to be more like the photo and not so much like a giant amorphous ball. I will have to return it—I don’t want to try to have a dry cleaner fix the absence of the pleats.
