Comfy and Soft

I used the socks skiing and my feet were warm, and breathable. The little extra padding in the shins and parts of the foot were nice to have. The only con was on the heels the socks started to ball some after one days use.

These socks do not stay up over the calf.

Sadly, these socks do not stay up. I am a 6'3 tall ski instructor and I have skied for 60 years and I LOVE my SMART WOOL clothing!!! My favorite pair of ski socks are from Smart Wool and they never fall down. They are so tight with a strong elastic around my calf that I have to muscle the socks to get them off. So when I learned about the extra tall socks, I bought 5 pair but after my first ski day, I discovered that these extra tall socks had fallen down below my calf. I tried another pair of my new socks, only to find that they also fell below my calf. I can only guess that my original favorite ski Smart Wool Ski socks must have had a higher percentage of the elastic material. This socks are a complete failure.

Quality socks for downhill skiing.

Extra stretch socks works well for anyone with larger calves. Use for downhill skiing.

great under knee brace

I ski with ACL braces on both knees, and these socks fill the bill for comfort and protection under the brace. This purchase is for two additional pair - I already purchased two pair last season.

Just purchased my 9th & 10th pair!

We ski 20-25 days per year and I need a technical ski sock that wicks moisture and has minimal cushioning. I have mostly targeted cushioning but a few pairs of no cushion. Price is reasonable and great durability. I probably add 1-2 pairs per year. I wear a 28. 5 ski boot and the Large sock fits perfect. I even have a couple of pairs that I use for hiking although ""over the calf"" are a bit much in the summer. . .

Better than I thought it would be!

I really like the sock and the fit, it was spot on! I went and got the extra stretch ski sock. From the first, it was spot on! The feel was great, and the support was great at the foot of the sock. Did not feel like the sock was over-compressing my calf. This is my first Smartwool sock in a very long time, need the time to see if it is five-star worthy!
