Tanya Slingback Sandal (Women)

I am so bummed to leave a bad review for these sandals. I was so excited for them. Ordered them in black and red. The red is literally a perfect red - like OPI Big Apple Red nail polish. The heel height is great. The shine - fantastic. But they're enormous! That buckle you see is fake. There is a small patch of velcro under there and that's how it fastens. No matter how far you pull that over it does not affect the strap that goes around the back of the ankle and to the other side. So the strap which should stabilize and tighten does not move - at best you can pull down on your instep to one side - what good is that?? What you get is a gaping circle of leather around your ankle - like a floppy hoop. It does not look nice for one thing and it is also unsafe because your foot will slide about and you're guaranteed to twist an ankle. Too bad! I tried two sizes and no luck. Both huge. I must own more than 20 pairs of Paul Green shoes. Normally I love them but these are a big miss. PG, please redesign them! My usual problem with your shoes is they are narrow!

These will be perfect for traveling this summer in Europe on uneven surfaces. Look great with dressy shorts (love Zimmermann floral ones!) and dresses. Yes, the “buckles” are actually Velcro but the way they fit my feet you’d never know and it makes them easy to adjust exactly to the tightness I want. The platino metallic is a beautiful neutral color that goes with everything. These shoes have excellent cushioning on the insole. I think the heel style is quite nice and more feminine than just a typical blocky one. Soft leather, lightweight, flexible shoe. I bought these in my typical 5UK (US 7.5) size. I typically wear a 38 in European shoes or an 8 US, but Paul Green runs bigger. Note: I typically have extra room at the length of shoes because I have short toes!

LOVE the candy-apple red! But Lakedoll is right, the fit is truly terrible. If I pull the velcro as tight as it can go, the fake buckle velcro overlap rubs up uncomfortably right under my ankle bone. It also results in the shoe pulling unevenly to one side causing a lopsided fit. The toe strap is way too loose (not adjustable) and I could put all the fingers of one hand plus all my toes through it. Normally I am a size 5UK in Paul Greens and the size 4.5UK was still too big. I am very sad, because this shoe looks fabulous until you put it on and it will never fit right. It needs a re-design starting with how about a real buckle to adjust the fit?

I have a few other Paul Green shoes and they are so comfortable. So when I saw this stylish sandal, I bought them in both red and gold. At first, it was nice to see that the fasten with a pseudo buckle with convenient Velcro, but the angle at which the Velcro connects is all wrong. It leaves a lot of space around the ankle, and then the rest of the shoe runs wide. I usually wear a nine in Paul Green, but even the 8.5 was loose. Also, it was strange, because my heels were not centered in the back of the shoe. They were hanging a little bit off the edge towards the inside of the foot. I even tried to increase my foot volume by trying them on with footpedals to take up the extra space, but they weren’t enough. Then I tried using my orthotic inserts to try and center my feet but that just made my feet slide all over in the sandal. So sad I have to return both of these!

Was expecting a silver sandal it’s more of a light gold/silver . I’m keeping it though because it can go with a lot ! I had to size down from an 8.5 my usual size for designer shoes (ie Jimmy Choi, Pedro Garcia ) to a 7.5 . It fits great just a trendy but too wide but not to the point of where it’s annoying At this price buy them!! Super comfortable and different. Would look great with wide bottom pants/ jeans and you can walk in them for hours
