Seamed A-Line Dress

This dress is perfect to dress up or down and to wear to work or a more special occasion. I am 5'3" and 120 lbs and the 4 P fit like a glove. I ordered the berry/burgundy color and liked it so much I went back and ordered another in the coral/salmon. Both colors are nice - one for Fall and one for Spring. The short sleeves and length to just above knee are what I was looking for. The material is well constructed. Highly recommend

First off, I love the look of this dress. Great fit, very cute style. It is a little on the longer side, but I actually like that about it. My only qualm with this dress is that for the price, the quality seems very mediocre. I saw some stitches that weren't finished nicely, and a handful of strings sticking out everywhere. I wish it had a second layer, as the quality of the material seem stiff. Bottom line: adorable dress, but I can find a better quality dress for that price point.

I now have 2 of these dresses, one is cobalt blue, don't see it here. I bought it last year and wore it a lot. I wanted a red dress for the holidays and after much searching came back to this Tahari dress in red and at a sale price. The red is a rich color red and not as bright as pictured here, so I loved it even more. Husband likes it too. Last time I ordered an 8 and 10 to see what fitted best. The 8 was just a little snug around the bust and shoulders so I took it back to the store which is 35 minutes away. The 10 skims my waist and hips with room to move comfortably while not looking loose. This dress can be dressed up or down, but for the holidays I will dress it up. I am 5'6.5, 130 lbs with an hourglass figure. Being 74, this dress makes a nice statement without looking like I'm trying to be a 24 year old.

I ordered this dress in Bottle Green. As another reviewer mentioned, the green is more of an emerald than the color on the screen. It's a really lovely color. The fabric is a lighter weight than I expected, but I was pleased that it didn't cling to any lumps or bumps. The dress draped nicely over my hips and tummy. Unfortunately, the zipper just wasn't working for me. The zipper did not lay flat over my back even though the dress fit perfectly through the bust and waist. I think it's because I have a short torso - there's more fabric than I need from my neck to my waist, and so the zipper bunches up. I did not purchase the petite size even though I'm short because the hemline on the petite dress is too short to be work appropriate in my field. I'm going to have to send the dress back.

What I love: the classic style, substantial material, lining, length, sleeves, pockets, colors. All make it a "grown-up" dress suitable for work but also able to be dressed up. What I couldn't get past: this is a personal preference, but I really hate the big bright gold industrial zipper down the back (that was not apparent in photos). If you like that, I'd recommend. If, like me, you think it's inconsistent with the look of the dress, I wouldn't recommend.

Reviews on Nordstrom cite are important to me. I read them as they are tremendously helpful. For me, dress material was lovely. Fit wasn't flattering on my hourglass figure with small waist & round hips. I'm 5,3 and dress seemed shorter too well above knee. The dress looked boxy on me and big around my torso & waist. Aline dresses are usually great on me. This particular Dress may be better for women with tiny hips & less curveyness. Returned & purchased Kate Spade Aline dress which fit perfectly. I'm more familiar with designer Kate Spade where her dress accentuates my small waist & falls effortlessly down my back and nicely around my hips. Was hoping Tahari dress would work. Depending on your figure, Tahari may be great for you! Happy shopping!
