The Rome Embossed Cap Toe Boot (Men)

I really love the look and feel of these boots, as do many others, evident by the numerous compliments I receive. I am however, a little concerned about the finish. I've had them for four months now and have only worn them 2-3 times each month yet they seem to be developing very visible cracks which I hope is only in the finish and not the actual leather. I'll apply some leather salve and see how they look afterwards. This is one of 4 pair of Taft boots I now own. I certainly look forward to more.

The only reason I gave this review a 1 star rating is because they don’t fit. I have what is considered wide feet, but nothing aside the norm. (No E, EE, or EEE) When I purchased these shoes back in September, the shoes reviews suggested they fit true to size, however, today is my anniversary 21st wedding anniversary and I choose not to open them til this morning. The reason being is because I’ve purchased 2 other shoes, same size (13) and they fit with no problem, so I saw no need to open these shoes because I was confident in previous purchases and the reviews of this shoe that I would have no issues. Well, to my surprise, once I opened the box and attempted to try on the shoes, I couldn’t get my foot in (without socks) so now I’m stuck with a purchase I can’t wear nor return. So encourage any one with wide feet to go atleast a size up because this shoe is made narrow. PS, I will gladly update my review if I can resolve this issue with Taft. If not, please use this review as a warning for those of you who have wide feet, and try on your shoes ASAP. Do not rely on previous purchases as a bench mark to future purchases.
