Athlete Hooded Long Sleeve Top

I bought 5 of these in the sale in various colours. 3 for me (age 59) and 2 for my daughter (age 24). We have worn them from late autumn through to now (early spring) and will in all likelihood do so for a few colder morning runs yet. They are so well fitting (both size 8 and wear XS), the quality is superb and the colours are all stunning (black, bright blue, dark green, red). They are great under a jacket on the really coldest running days, but we have found them to be warm enough on their own when it’s not quite so bleak. The high (but not tight) neck (thanks to the hood) sits just right, eliminating the need for a scarf. When we were walking up a hill on the coldest winters day, with hailstones blowing in our faces, the hoods on these tops literally saved us from having to descend before we summited. We were snug with the tops under waterproofs, and the hoods and high necks protected us as a snug inner layer. They have been so versatile. Need more colour variations for next year please!

If I could give this negative stars, I would. I am always leery of ordering items from SB -- you can tell that they don't employ any designers who get any actual exercise, or test out their clothing on athletes. Sometimes they get it right (appears to be pure luck--or maybe it's the items that are made of natural materials with a looser fit), but this time their luck ran out. This is made out of the cheapest, most awful fabric. Like plastic (maybe because it is -- could be some petroleum derivative). And it's absolutely skin tight -- I ordered a size larger than usual (per other reviews) and I could still barely get it on. No actual athlete wants to run in skin-tight clothing (I'm running, not trying to earn my living as a streetwalker). Lastly, I ordered the sunset pink, which appears to be a beautiful peach color on the website--in real life it's a 90s fluorescent coral.
