What it is: A tinted mineral lip balm that adds a hint of color to your lips while protecting, nourishing and softening.
What it does: Organic cupuaçu butter and mongongo oil deliver an ultra-cream texture that smoothes and nourishes lips while keeping them hydrated so they look healthy, plump and youthful.
How to use: Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating or at least every two hours.

Great, but can't let it get old
I love the colors and the fact that this is a sunscreen with safe ingredients that I don't have to worry about ingesting. It goes on smoothly and keeps my lips from drying out when I'm in the sun all day and doesn't wear off quickly. The one negative is that if it sits around for a long period of time, it will develop a somewhat rancid oil smell and will become dry, not creamy and will be come hard to apply. It's important to buy it from a source that turns over its stock frequently to be assured your not getting an "old" product. It would be helpful of Coola added "best if used by" dates.

unpleasant smell
While the hint of pink is nice, I cannot stand the smell and I agree with other reviews that it goes on sticky-not smooth at all. Do not recommend. I wish Nordstrom had some good tinted lip balm WITH SPF but this was the only choice at the time of my purchase.

I love nude beach ...It's a light, matte, pink/nude balm like in texture. It has tremendous staying power, moisturizes and has sun protection. I'm a lip gloss/lip stick/lip balm fanatic and have loads of lip products in my purse and around my house but this is the one that I always grab and use. When I'm at the lake or on the boat I keep it tucked in my bathing suit top! No need for a mirror, it's that easy to wear. It's not a sticky, wet gloss but a smooth bit of color. It's perfect in my opinion. I've tried Coral and that was way too orange for me. Firecracker is definitely Red, once again , not me. Crush was fine but I a little more color than I prefer. Buff I really couldn't see any color but then again, it's called Buff. For reference, I'm fair, blond hair, green eyes.

Should Have Listen to the Other Reviews
Like many others stated, I too wanted to love this. I should’ve listen though. I have to agree with others that it’s more drying than expected and the tint is barely there. However, it’s still SPF so I’ll give it that. I say, save yourself $8 and just get the clear one since the tint on these is pointless.

Firecracker is a gorgeous strawberry pink
If you’ve disliked the more nude shades, try Firecracker! It’s such a great color.
I think people are expecting this to have the soft texture of an oil balm. When it comes to SPF lip products, you DON’T want a soft product because it can migrate into your mouth and sunscreen lip products taste extremely bitter and gross. The stick being dense and firm keeps the product on your lips longer (it’s still there hours after for me, if a bit faded), helps with maintaining sun protection longer, and keeps it from getting into your mouth. Anyone who’s tried the Vacation brand spf liquid lip oil knows what I mean! I would rather have a firm balm than one that leaves me eating sunscreen daily.
Lastly, it should not feel completely dry like concrete. In that case, it’s just old and needs to be returned. The texture of a fresh one is similar to an opaque matte lipstick.

Love SPF and lip color!
This is exactly what I was looking for. It’s definitely tinted and more sheer vs full coverage color, but builds well. Not super moisturizing, but it lasts well and doesn’t rub off on everything. It’s exactly what I was looking for after my dermatologist removed precancerous spots from my lip line, and recommended I use SPF lip care exclusively during the day. So excited to have lip color with guaranteed SPF!
