They ARE worth every penny!
I have been buying (and returning) OTK boots for the last 18 months. They're all mid-range in price - nothing cheap - and yet they're all too short and fall right at mid knee.
Not these incredible, sexy-but-modest boots! They will NOT be going back. I am so in love and plan to wear them everywhere with everything. So far I love them with leggings and a sweatshirt for errands, a flannel and a mini skirt for date night, and jeans and a sweater for lunch, and am still looking for a way to fit them into a work outfit.
The heel is moderate, so they lengthen my short, stocky legs and go all the way up to my thigh. They're not pirate-y like most OTK boots, which is a huge plus. (I'm 5'4, with a 29 inch inseam.) The gray is dark, which goes well with almost everything. The gray also seems a little less vampy, making them more universal to me. I did seal them with a suede protector because I live in a wet, snowy climate and plan to wear them year-round.
I am not petite. I am about 145, wear a size 6.5 shoe and size 29 jeans. I ordered a size 7 and have room in the foot, but am happy with the boots. I did read elsewhere to size half a size down, but I was worried about the calf and thigh fitting. No problems here! The boot is form-fitting, but slides on like a glove. Like I said, it's a snowy, cold climate, so I will be pairing with thicker socks and don't mind the roomy size, but they do seem true to size and a 6.5 probably would've been perfect.

Stylish, yet uncomfortable.
The boots are very beautiful and stylish, they are also uncomfortable. After walking for a few hours, my feet were killing me especially at the balls of my feet. I even put inserts to help and those did not work. For the price, they should have better support.

BEST MID HEIGHT BOOTS!
I was debating between the stuart weitzman's boots for a very long time because it is an expensive boot. I tried on the thighlands and although they are comfortable...not as nearly as long as the Tieland boots. Personally, if I had to choose just one, I would choose these. Example, the lowlands are basic sleek flats, but it needs more of a heel to make it versatile from daytime look into evening to make it worth the purchase. The thighlands are of course sexy and comfortable, but not comfortable after 3 hours because it is a 4 inch heel whereas the tielands are the PERFECT 3 inch heel height. For sizing, I would definitely size down 1/2 only. These are my all time favorite boots! Enjoy!

Love
I still can’t believe I finally bit the bullet and bought these, but I’m so glad I did. I spent a lot of time debating between these and lowland. I live in nyc and walk a lot so I was worried any heel wouldn’t be the best idea, but I’m also short and a heel is greatly appreciated and makes my legs look far longer. Tieland is a great compromise boot for this, the heel is low enough (and it’s a block heel) to be comfortable, but high enough to add an awesome leg lengthening effect. I’m 4’ 10” and my legs go on for miles in these boots. I have more athletic calves (they measure right at 14”), to the point where I’ve been struggling to find a cute pair of over the knee boots that will fit over them, and these fit like a glove. I would recommend going into the store to try them on though, as it seems each one is made slightly different or something. For example, even though I wear a size 4, I was trying on 5s in lowland in store to fit over my calf, which they barely did. However when I tried on tieland, the 4s fit my calves like a dream while the 4.5s wouldn’t begin to go around my calf. Suede does stretch so differences can also be attributed to how many people have tried the shoe on, but moral of the story is go in and try these boots on in store if you’re worried about the calf circumference at all. As far as foot sizing, they seem true to size but a bit narrow. Overall I am so in love with this boot and so happy I chose this style. Think I’ll go back next year for the lowland, which will be even better for walking, but tieland is just that mid level boot that is good for every occasion.

Beautiful, high-quality boots!
These boots make legs look beautiful even when your shape is a bit compromised. I love them. Initially I bought Highland with four-inch heels. I love them, too, and want them to work. But they didn't. The heels were too much. This one, with three-inch heels, are just as beautiful and more comfortable. I love them.
I always take size 8, but size 7.5 works well for me. So, they run big, you should be aware.

Gorgeous boots and TTS!
I am always a size 8 in Stuart Weiztman shoes and boots, and these SW OTK Tieland boots are no exception. So glad I didn’t order a half size smaller as some reviewers recommended. I prefer to wear very light socks in my boots, yet even if I wear medium weight socks, the boots will be comfortable. I doubt I could wear thick socks because the boots would be too tight, but I don’t like to wear thick socks in boots like this b/c my feet get hot. Originally, I could only order these in size 8.5, because my preferred size 8 was not available. But, Orlando in the Honolulu store reached out to me and asked if I wanted a size 8 that became available in his store. What an amazing Nordstrom customer service experience! I am thrilled with my size 8 Tielands!
