5050 Over the Knee Boot

Some advice if you are short: Get the suede and get them a size smaller. I am a very fit 5'4" gal but have short legs and the leather made me look like I was wearing Halloween fake pirate boots and came up so high on my thigh. I also made the mistake of getting them in my regular size so the leather bagged and sagged. Not a good look. A friend recommended the black suede (I should have listened to her in the first place) and I sized down a half size and LOVE them. They look so much more luxe and fit like a glove. Just some things to keep in mind for you short legged gals! I went from hating the first pair and wondering what everyone was raving about to being a really really big fan. Subtracted one star b/c I feel like I can honestly review the leather and suede, and not that impressed with the leather. Im sure on taller girls may be beautiful if size right.

After a long and frustrating search for boots that fit, I finally found Stuart Weitzman brand. This brand is known for a slim fit and it's true - all of his boots fit me well and the 5050s were perfect. I'm 6 ft. tall, wear a size 9 (narrow) and I have insanely skinny/shapeless calves. So if you have thin calves too.....I'd recommend that you seek these boots out and don't think twice about paying top dollar for them. They may very well be the only pair of boots I will ever own. They are ultra comfortable, versatile with timeless styling and a premium quality. Worth every cent. In fact, I've bought a second pair to keep on hand for the future - just in case. Honestly, they are amazing. And, oh by the way, I'm definitely not a 'shoe person' so it takes A LOT to wow me.

I love these boots they're are the best for any calves! One thing is they're a little hard to get in and get off but once they're on they're are so sexy and very appealing

I don't usually wear knee boots...under or over the knee, but my life changed when I tried these on. I LOVE them. I can wear them all day and my feet still feel so comfortable at the end of the day when I take them off. I am having so much fun in my closet creating new outfits to wear with them. With the stretchy fabric in the back of the boot, they fit so nicely and make my legs look so shapely compared to the all leather boots. With the over the knee styling, my legs look long and lean. They are worth every penny.

Based on the reviews, I was expecting so much from this boot. It is beautiful on the front side; however, the backside looks like a therapeutic knee sock. It bunches up at the ankle when wearing, and shows any creases from jeans or leggings. It is anything but "sleek" as the description states. The boot looks very unsophisticated from the back. It is comfortable, but I have boots for under $200 that are just as comfortable, if not more. It runs big, I usually wear an 8.5 boot, but the 8 fit perfect. If you are tall (I'm 5'9"), the boot will not cover your knee. These boots are definitely going back - not worth $650!!!

These boots get such rave reviews, so I broke down and purchased, but I am almost certainly returning these. True, they are quite comfortable to walk in. They look kind of cool from the front, but the big elastic stretch in the back simply looks like a goofy knee high stocking!? Almost like medical compression stockings worn for varicose veins and to prevent vein clots and leg edema, but not quite as chic. The big goofy elastic looks really dumb over bare legs or leggings with skirts but even more so pulled up over jeans. Then I saw a short girl wearing these and her legs looked very much like Popeye's, and not in a good way. Sure the elastic can fit over your um "athletic" (read: big/fat/huge) calves. But elastic can be very unforgiving, and do you really want the whole world to see just how "athletic" your calves are? Another factor I considered with these boots is how ubiquitous they are now. I walked into the Stuart Weitzman store to try these on prior to purchasing them online. The sales person was really helpful and friendly but probably inadvertently talked me out of these boots by describing how many people she knew who had them and just "love, love, loved" them, including herself. Personally, I would prefer not to drop $600 on a boot that every chick in town owns, from the saleslady to the mail-lady. Instead I'd rather invest that much money in a less common boot that no one else is rocking. 50/50 - no, thank you.
