Hockey Rink Approved
Haven’t taken it outside yet, but the Mountain Hardwear StretchDown Hoody passed the hockey‑rink test with ease. I stayed warm the whole time sitting in the bleachers with only a short‑sleeve T‑shirt underneath. Super comfortable, great stretch, and surprisingly warm for the weight. Excited to use it more.

Horrible Design in the Cuffs
The sleeves are horrible! I wanted to love this jacket but the sleeve cuffs are so annoying. There is no elastic cuff but instead this uncomfortable, rigid fabric underneath the cuff. I had to return and go with a different puffer. I don’t understand why the “light” version of this has cuffs but not this one.

Horrible design for the sleeves
I was super excited to get this jacket. I figured the sleeves would be too long based on photos and reviews, but the design of the cuffs was so annoying. On the stretchdown light hoody, it has elastic fabric on the very end of the cuff so the sleeve won’t go below your wrist, which is nice. However, this jacket does not have that but instead has a rigid piece of fabric on the underside of the cuff that is super irritating. I tried to make it work but it was just too annoying

Excited for colder weather
Great color, comfy, lightweight, fits true to size. We'll see how it holds up once I'm wearing it regularly, but it feels pretty sturdy.

Not as good ad the OG
Not as good as the original. They updated this jacked with the raglan shoulders and that was a big downgrade. It does not fit as well and does not look as nice either. I bought thsi version when my old one wore out, and I ended up returning it.

Must have, all around, great coat.
I like this jacket so much I bought 3 different colors. They’re soft, warm, compact, and lightweight. Grey w the hood looks the best despite it looking goofy on that model. You have to cinch up the waist, then it takes a nice looking shape. I take it on hikes in Colorado, stayed warm in light snow, low 40’s maybe high 30’s. I’m 6’1” 195. I have both L and XL Large fits perfect, however, I prefer XL for a more relaxed fit that still looks good, not bulky. Sleeves aren’t snug w the XL but it’s fine. Does okay in light rain, beads up nicely, but surface fabric will absorb water if you wipe your hands on it or press up against anything, but then will later dry easily. So just don’t wear in a downpour then it’s great. I wear them everywhere, the style looks better than your typical lightweight down because of the baffle pattern and smooth matte looking fabric, it looks sporty but also works for work or casual affairs.
