An Extremely Versatile Product
I have a lot of All-Clad products but this is probably my favorite. I bought it to use as a splatter shield and to drain liquid from large pots and skillets. When it arrived, I instantly saw so many other uses. To name a few: wash and drain berries, grapes, radishes, ears of fresh corn, bananas, eggs, etc. without the bulk of a colander, and the large circumference allows for a quicker and more thorough spray and drainage than a colander; reheat pizza, bread, crepes and similar food in the oven to retain a crispy crust; cover a pot or skillet to finish off cooking without the contents getting soggy, venting a pot of etc. etc.. Due to the flatter design (compared to a lid), it is easier to maneuver when removing from the cabinet or cooking. Just last night I ordered another one for a gift!

Trim Cooktop Cleaning Time and Effort
I purchased this several months ago and use it for every sauté dish and many fried meals. It's far superior to the thin circular screen with an awkwardly long handle that it replaced. The minute I see an 8.5-inch version, I'll order one for myself and one each for my son and daughter.
