What it is: A mattifying makeup primer that absorbs oil to control shine, delivers a blurred, velvety finish and extends makeup wear.
Who it's for: Combination and oily skin types.
What it does: Step 1 Primer Shine Control achieves a blurred, matte complexion for up to 20 hours. This comfortable formula made with mineral-clay powder absorbs oil and controls shine while extending the wear of makeup.
How to use: For best results, apply over makeup only in oily areas, such as the T-zone. Warm a rice-size amount between fingertips and gently press onto skin. Layer under color-correcting formulas as needed.

Long Lasting Results
This primer works great. It keeps my skin from getting oily all day when I pair it with a control finishing powder. I loved the Becca primer, but the company went out of business. Makeup Forever is the closest I’ve come to the results I had with Becca.

Excellent for oily skin
I have naturally “dewy” skin and this is the first primer I’ve ever used that actually does anything to control shine. It really does mattify the skin without looking dry and it reduces the appearance of texture and pores. It helps makeup stick and last longer. No longer does my makeup get dissolved by the oil on my face. My face does not get greasy and shiny with this. I only have to blot once in 4 hrs or so when I would otherwise get greasy after 1 hr.

Pretty solid job at preserving my makeup… too bad it can’t just STOP me from sweating!!
Doesn’t contain pore clogging ingredients, which is a mega win!
I’d prefer the product to be unscented - the fragrance is a lot.
Not ideal for use in the undereye area - way too drying, which enhances fine lines/wrinkles…. However, IT IS a mattifying primer! So I skip using it there and haven’t figured out a better option, TBh!

I adore this primer! It is the only primer that I can use under foundations to prevent that greasy/shiny look. I use it only in certain spots in my face for that purpose.
