Supersoft Zip-Up Hoodie

I was disappointed in the fit of this hoodie. I am 5’5.5”, a slim build @ 142lbs. I usually wear a small to a medium. Since this is a hoodie I ordered it in a medium. The sleeves were barely long enough and the fit of the body was boxy and a bit short. The fabric was soft and comfortable, but the fit was unacceptable to justify the cost so I returned it. I love Nordstrom’s customer service and ease of returns. Since I no longer live near a Nordstrom I need to order everything online, often it’s difficult to judge how something will fit so free shipping and FREE RETURNS are a must! Having owned other sweaters by this manufacturer, over the years I have noticed a significant reduction in the use of fabric to save the manufacturer$ and keep consumer costs lower. I recently ordered a Splendid sweater, the exact same style I had purchased two decades ago and it’s length was about a foot shorter. This corporate cost saving tactic is much the same as in the food industry, they reduce the size of the product to keep the price competitive hoping the consumer doesn’t notice, this was very much noticed by bakers in the food industry. I (and others) probably would not notice this “sizing down” to save material costs except I have owned the very same sweater and still have it from decades prior. BTW, 20 years ago I paid the same retail price for the sweater that I recently bought in another color because I liked it so much, same price albeit less fabric.

I love the way this sweatshirt fits and looks. I would not normally pay this much for a sweatshirt but this one was worth it. I have tried on numerous ones that were too bulky or too big all around. This is a lighter weight sweatshirt that fits nicely under a jacket or is perfect for indoors or a cool summer night. It looks nice with pants and shorts and is so comfortable. It is rayon so does require you lay flat to dry which I normally avoid but was willing to do for this gem.

I love Splendid and have a hoodie with the same, beautiful material so I was excited when I saw this one was machine washable. I am only 5’1 and very thin and it’s super short on me, especially in the back. Looks like it shrunk in the wash but I didn’t wash it yet. Such a shame they made it so short. The whole idea of a sweater for me is for extra warmth. I would need up keep pulling it down.

I wanted a soft hoodie to replace my Ugg hoodie. This hoodie is soft, but, it’s like a nice sweater, not a “go to” sweatshirt hoodie. Much too refined for me… it’s very light weight. For the price, I’d rather have a nice sweater.

I rarely buy any black but this one is the best hoodie I have ever bought. Hope they carry other colors

I am going to LOVE living in this hoodie! It was a little pricey at full cost, but soooo worth it. It fits great, sleeves are long though not too long for normal length arms, fabric is lusciously soft/lightweight/comfortable, and seems like a quality garment. Extremely satisfied with this!!
