The waist elastic/control is great, but the thong is not a true thong. It is a 'cheeky thong' which cuts across your butt and shows through when wearing tight garments. This may work for you, depending on what you are wearing. Jeans, or pants/skirts/dresses with linings would probably be fine with this, but nothing bodycon.

I bought this for smoothing my midsection for when I wear form-fitting/clingy tops or sweaterdresses. It is discreet, does the job, and stays put all day. It doesn't provide massive amounts of support (like a corset would), but does smooth everything out. Just like all Spanx items, it's tight the first couple of times, but slightly loosens to fit you perfectly. Just be careful of pulling it up too high, because when you sit down you'll get a massive wedgie.

These were so uncomfortable. I tried on 2 sizes and one was too loose and the other fit very well, until I wore them to a gala and let me tell you my crack was burning half way through the dinner because these spanx ride up so high! I think I will stick the regular ones

I wore an XS in my wedding dress and looked back at photos and at certain angles kept thinking man if I can see a little pooch in spanx, what in the world did I look like without?! When looking in the mirror I honestly never thought I had any belly at all, but was trying to cover all my bases just in case since of course this is my wedding day. But then fast forward a year later and I’m 3 months postpartum and wanted to slim down my c-section belly pooch at 155 lbs (I’m 5’6). I knew there’s no way the XS would fit so I went to buy a M today. Didn’t try it on in the store but when I got home I put it on and looked down and realized there was ZERO change. To prove it, I went and found a garment measuring tape and measured my problem area at 38” around with the shapewear on and also 38” with the shapewear off. It literally does nothing. Too bad it took me almost $140 to believe it. If you read the reviews on their website, someone always responds and say “oh! That’s not supposed to happen!” And offers a return. Or they say you’re wearing the wrong size like you don’t know how to read instructions/reviews. But even the next level up (level 3) wouldn’t be enough to “flatten tummy” like they claim. Buy this if you want a silky soft bathing suit bottom because that’s all it is.

1st time I tried them on I could barely get them over my hips but after the 3rd time it is much easier. They do the job well but to be honest I like the one from Victoria's secret better.
