Every baby must have Sophie!
All new babies must have Sophie...my son loves her. He chews and chews on her head and feet - and can easily hold on to it. With all the worries about toxic toys, and what our kids are putting in their mouths, it's nice to know there's at least one toy out there that's not plastic. I've given Sophie as a first baby gift to all my friends and it's funny because she's kind of a status symbol. They call me and say "I'd never heard of Sophie, but moms stop me and ask where I got it." Pretty funny. We love Sophie.

CHOKING HAZARD
My baby nearly choked on this teether. One of the legs got stuck in her throat and she was turning color right before I pulled it out! Do not put your baby's life at risk! This has happened to many other parents!

Overrated & Cheap
This is not a solid piece - it is hollow and thin and it has a sqeeker in it. Not only does it look like a dog toy it smells like one too (cheap plastic)! Also you can't sanitize it, get it hot or put it in the dishwasher. So I'm supposed to "spot clean" something that goes in my baby's mouth? This is way overhyped - overpriced piece.
I am a very loyal Nordies customer and this is the first time in a long time something dissapointed me so much. :(

My favorite baby gift!
I remembered getting a giraffe as a baby shower present, 34 years ago. My daughter when teething was able to grasp the giraffe by the neck (perfect size neck for baby's hand, and bring it up to her mouth, and then teeth, especially on the giraffe's ears. Fast forward ... I found Sophie the giraffe @ Nordstrom last year 2012, and bought her for my daughters best friend baby shower. In August of 2013, I purchased another for my own daughters baby shower! The new mom from 2012 attested to the fact that this is THE best teething toy, and how much her son uses it! The dye used for Sophie is non-toxic, as is the rubber material, not even mentioning how darn ADORABLE Sophie is. Thinking back, and knowing my (smart) cousin that gave me this shower gift back in 1979, I'd betcha, that the giraffe that I received back then, was a Sophie giraffe, I just didn't realize, how special this little giraffe was, but I did appreciate her!

Favorite toy
My 8 month old (6 mo adjusted preemie) loves Sophie. It's easy for her small hands to grip, it's soft enough for her to squeak on her own and she loves it so much she doesn't let it out of her sight. Money well spent.

A Must Have
Sophie is a must have toy for all babies!
I bought it for my 7 month old nephew for Christmas, and he loves it!
He always has it in his hand, and loves to chew on her, especially since he is teething!
Perfect gift, and so safe since it is made from natural rubber and food paint!
