An invisible polymer instantly cloaks hair strands and repels water, giving silicone-free protection.
How to use: To prep hair for styling, work a small amount of product in hands. Apply product through damp hair and style as desired.

Smooth Infusion style-prep smoother
My hairdresser put this onto my hair. It smoothed down my hair instantly. I have porous thick hair. I found that with the combined shampoo, my hair is actually manageable. No frizz. I feel it is a good product for thick hair that needs calming down.

New formula is AWFUL
What have you done?? I redeemed some of my loyalty points for this because I loved the testers I had before, and it's completely different. It makes my hair unbearably heavy, sticky, and almost impossible to wash out. Really disappointed. A complete waste of my points.

Glad I gave it a try !
After reading so many negative reviews, and loving the old version, I put off trying this "new" formula until after trying several other brands that I did not care for. Bottom line is that this new formula is actually really good !!
I think the trick is to use a TINY amount , much less than you needed to use before . Also, when initially blow drying my hair it does feel like it is a bit drying , but once totally dry, my hair is very smooth and soft and lasts until the next washing.
I am very pleasantly surprised and will definitely buy again! Still so much better than any of the other smoothing serums out there.

New formulation - not for the better
I used to buy the previous formulation of this product and it was my holy grail. I've tried so many hair oils and nothing compared to it. I searched for it to find that the packaging and formulation had changed, but was hoping it was still just as good as its predecessor. Unfortunately it comes up very short. PLEASE bring back the old formulation. From the many comments I've read on here and other forums, many people agree it hasn't changed for the better. I will not be buying again.

Changed formula is terrible
I used this product for over a decade and was extremely disappointed when the formula was recently changed as I had to unfortunately stop using it after so long. The new formula is heavy, sticky and does not provide the lightweight frizz protection as previously enjoyed for so many years.

You are losing customers with this new formula
I would regularly purchase this product in the past but since they changed the product, I can no longer be loyal enough to buy something that no longer works for my hair. In an industry that does not listen to its consumers, failure follows closely behind. There aren't many things I can continue to spend a premium in this greedy economy but if I love something enough I do spend the money. As for this new product, Instead or re-structuring the formula, you should have created this new formula while still keeping the old formula. BRING BACK THE OKF FORMULA, OR LOSE!

I WAS GETTING READY TO PURCHASE UNTIL.....
I have been using the Smooth Infusion Style Prep for YEARS. And when I noticed the new packaging I decided to read the reviews. I am so glad I did!!! EVERYONE SAID "BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA" EVERYONE!!! and yet here we are STILL with the "new" formula. Why leave reviews if someone from corporate isn't going to read them and learn from them? Come on AVEDA you are better than this! Step up and do the right thing and bring back the orginial formula.
