Smocked Boatneck Midi Dress

The middle transition on dress from smocked top to skirt jet out a tad with my tummy. Great dress for flat tummies. Wish I could have kept it. I’m 5-6 140ish depending in day I bought small since it seemed full in shirt. Maybe medium would fit me better. I love smocked look. If it’s too long for shorter girls simple have Nordstrom tailors hem it for you. Call to make tailoring appt. It’s so easy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 36D and was worried that the smoked top part would not look good on me, but surprisingly, it looks good with the dark color and it gives a classic feel! Love the length too. I prefer my midi dress to actually cover my calf and show only ankle and this is perfect length.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dress in both black and white and black stripe. The fit is true to size. The pockets are perfect. The dress is partially lined and the fabric is lightweight. The smocking and full skirt make the dress comfortable and give the wearer a nice profile. Larger chested women may find the top a little snug, though there is a small bit of give to the fabric. I like the striped dress better than the solid black - the skirt fabric on the black has a slight shine to it, which is not to my taste. I’ll probably add a belt of some sort to the waist to lessen the contrast between the top and the skirt. I’d buy the striped dress again in a heartbeat, but I’m not so sure about the solid black (though I will say that the black can be dressed up or down and it is very appropriate for more somber occasions, which is why I’m keeping it).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dress is very pretty and can be worn to work, a casual day, or even be dressed up. I’m 5’2 and the length is good! The smocking makes the dress very comfortable, but the elastic at the end of the sleeves is quite tight even though I’m always a size small in Madewell tops.
