Small Grand Ambition Leather Convertible Backpack

I fluctuated back and forth with giving this bag 4 or 5 stars. I gave it 5 stars because the issue I have with the bag has nothing to do with the quality or aesthetics. This backpack is gorgeous, roomy, and functional. The leather is soft yet sturdy enough that the bag doesn't fall in on itself. The straps are soft and comfortable. Empty it's not heavy, as some leather bags can be. It has a padded area for a laptop or pad (that area isn't very padded though). There's no designated place for a water bottle. The exterior bottom of the bag is flat and the bag easily stands on its own (the bottom has no feet). I bought it for traveling/flying and it would work perfectly for my needs but sadly I had to return it. I'm short (5') with a short torso and although the bag itself fit my body nicely and I can easily adjust the straps to fit, when I do the metal adjustment buckles are now in front and on me they hit right where my armpit and breast meet making it uncomfortable for me to wear. If I were just an inch or two taller or had a longer torso it would be a keeper, especially at the sale price!

This is the 3rd time in the last couple of months that Nordstrom has sent me an obviously USED product. This time it was the Cole Hahn small backpack. This came with smudges on the leather, no tags anywhere...Not one tag and completely dirty straps. How can they just pass off subpar merchandise at this price? Retail $328 - I paid $161 and now I see they have been marked down even further. I think new, this could have been a nice item, had it been unused. Now someone else can have it and hopefully they won't mind that it is filthy.
