Can't wear as a belt bag

When adjusted to its shortest length, the strap and bag measure 35" in length. If your waist is less than 35" circumference, this bag will fall off of you. I reached out to HOBO customer service and they claimed this is not a flaw -- the bag is meant to have a strap this long. There's no way the woman seen in the product photo is wearing this as a belt bag and it sits that snugly on her waist. I have a 30" waist and this bag falls off of me. It's a bummer and I don't understand why HOBO thinks a belt bag needs a strap that is 35"-48" in length (description says 41", but that's an error.)
