Skin Fetish: Divine Glow Highlighter

I didn’t want to love this because of the price. I have so many highlighters, luminizers, in liquid, cream and powder form. All my collection is prestige products . My absolute favorite is Hermes in permabrass. So I set out my collection to do the comparison, not only swatches, but in regards to finish, texture, longevity, and base color, opacity, as well as over blush and under blush, whew. Lunar Allure is transparent with no base color, of all my searches it is closest to rare beauty (enlighten). Lunar Allure is less frosty , not glittery at all. The best part about this highlighter compared to all others is that it imparts a “brightness” to the skin. There is a radiance unlike others which renders this finish extraordinary but “I can’t put my finger on it but your skin looks fabulous! What are you doing?” look. That is what Lunar Allure imparts. The other colors in this highlighter are more opaque with a base color and a bit of frost. My skin is medium, neutral and Lunar Allure is lovely. For more fair tones you will get that ethereal “ice queen “ look with zero frost . For darker skin tones, I don’t recommend as it will lose the subtlety and look a bit ashy. This is great under blush. Over blush you will achieve a dewy blush glow which becomes more beautiful the more you buff blush and highlighter together. So beautiful over Cupid’s bow and under brow bone, collar bones etc. I’m keeping it. Yes there are comparable colors out there, but this sophisticated finish and formula is different. The other colors in this collection have a base color, and therefore impart glow and color both which will affect final blush color and are slightly frosty . That is my honest review for Lunar Allure.

1 Star for Highlighter arriving broken - I love this highlighter and was excited to receive it. Unfortunately, it arrived broken. In my opinion, this was due to the packaging. At this price point, I expected more care to be taken to ensure that the packing was secure. The highlighter is in a small box that measures 3x3 inches. However, it was placed in a larger box and, when I opened it, I was disappointed to find that it was only wrapped in brown paper—nothing more. As a result, it was crumbled and did not look anything like the beautiful picture. While I want the highlighter, I'm not sure if I will reorder for two reasons: I question how seriously Nordstrom takes their reviews, and I worry that future purchases might arrive with the same lack of care. So, if you decide to order, be cautious. I can't be the only one who has experienced this. I will return the item tomorrow. Unfortunately, the nearest Nordstrom Rack is 45 minutes away, so it's not worth the drive to return it in person. Instead, I will send it back via the post office and wait for my refund for a defective item. Nordstrom, please do better!
